*steps back several feet* Uhm....<.< >.> there are a few ways to get out of writers block: 1) Think about your story really deeply. Don't write it down, just work through it in your head. This could include plot, characters, dialogue, whatever. 2) Write a journal of some sort. You already have a subject, you just need to get it down on paper. Sometimes that loosens up the ol' pen. 3) Join a roleplay or story discussion with someone else. Sometimes bouncing ideas back and forth can be extremely helpful. 4) I'm not a god. Don't treat me like one. Seriously. That's awkward.

Yeah, I do that a lot too. If I'm not feeling any inspiration to write, I usually just don't. That and the fact that I have several stories going at once means I can direct my attention between them--which helps sometimes. Sometimes just dealing in one story alone bores me too much, I keep wanting to make new stories entirely.

Sorry Rana. I can be very random...to the point of insanity sometimes. Just don't give me caffeine or any other stimulant when I'm experiencing a random mood.

I have about seven or eight different ideas right now that I'm splitting my attention between, which really does help. I agree, Rana. If you can't focus on one, move to another. @Serenity: If I were to wait my writing blocks off, I'd never get anything done. That's just me, though.

I love squashing ideas together!!! I almost always make my stories better if I squish two or more of my ideas together, and without that, my ideas generally suk all by themselves. Iz what I love about stories, they're so multi-dimensional.

I actually had a short story that I wrote, but didn't publish, that I may combine with one of my novel ideas.

I wrote a short story as a prequel to one of the characters in a novel I'm writing. It was awesome!

I've attempted writing. I either fall short of impressing myself in order to keep going, or I just lose creativity. I don't know. I've written maybe a dozen tiny blips on random stuff, but I've never gotten over 30 pages worth of a story.

well, here's my idea for you. I want you to take a look at any two of your tiny story blips, and see if they aren't in some way connected, or if they couldn't in some way be connected. Sometimes it's the connections themselves that surprise me the most in stories, rather than what's actually being connected. Also, if that fails, you might try your hand at short stories. You don't need so much complexity with those, and you can really make a full short story with just a few pages--perfect for your little blips.

@ Tweaked: I love to write, but often fall short of impressing myself, too. However, we all are less imressed with our own work than others are. I would love to read some of your stuff, though, if we could find a way to get it around. Don't worry; I wouldn't dare to steal your ideas, or anyone's for that matter. Maybe I could even send you some stuff of mine if you want to see it.

well, I'm working on a story idea for a planet not too far from Kadora called Ardos. It is at the moment a trilogy, each book following the story of three different characters in the same world. The GOds of Ardos, the first one, follows Leyo as he learns of the early history of his world. The Great War, the second one, follows Elyana, Leyo's wife, as she fights the mutated creatures created by the dark god of Ardos. Then, after her army has beaten the dark cretures behind the Boundary Mountains (to be renamed), the gods of ardos leave, and the Phoenixes rule Ardos, Leyo and Elyana's son, Bruko, finds himself faced with the oncoming threat: the dark creatures have a new leader, and he is bent on complete destruction of Ardos.

hmmm...my story has an epic plot(s) to it like that too...but between the dfferent books are huge time-skips. but i don't think i'll even try to explain the plot...it sounds lame when i just summarize it, and it would take forever to explain

Lol, I always take forever to describe my stories to. *points up* that's probably the shortest I've EVER explained that whole trilogy, b/c it's so complicated in my head, it usually takes much longer.

As am I. I just didn't go into details at all in my summary. There's also another story that I'm writing called Love is Blind, which has three main characters, each with very different and somewhat sad lives, coming together and becoming friends despite their initial dislike of each and circumstances that speak against it.

Yeah. And, I usually write at night. It's after I go to bed, so I don't have anything else to do, but I'm not tired and all my feelings and emotions and ideas and imagination are flowing like crazy then, so I find it is the best time to write just about anything.

I, too, use a lot of words to describe what I write, and I also get some of my best ideas at night. I used to be morning person, but I've recently undergone a transformation from 'morning person' to 'night owl', which sucks because if I don't get to bed relatively early, I don't get up in the morning. I would write at night if it weren't for another reason: my writer's block.

Maybe your style's changing. I've always been a morning person. It's so hard for me to stay up past eleven.

I'm not saying that I'm specifically a night owl or a morning person, but I figured out a while back that when I wake up in the morning I have a pretty good hold on my emotions, but that slowly breaks down during the day until by nightime all my emotions flow very freely. It helps when I write because I can use that to put feeling in my stories

That's really cool. I had that torrent of creativity for writing a while ago, but now it kind of...stopped. Like someone stuck a cork into a leaky wine bottle.

Sometimes it's like that. What you may want to do is look at all those ideas that came out and sort of give them a more analytical view, like, you already have the ideas, now what do you do with them. If that doesn't work, then just sorta wait it off. The ideas will come soon enough.

*invisible puffball gurgles happily from its perch in a nearby tree* The thing about puffballs is that they never get angry. They get sad and frightened, but you'd have to do quite a bit to make them mad.

*puffball gurgles from low-hanging branch far behind Rana* Silly little critters. They're fast suckers, aren't they?

*freezes the outside of the sphere so that the puffbal is trapped in a hard, transparent ice ball* There, now it can't get out.

Another thing about puffballs. If they get caught, they fall asleep. Rather funny.

I do the same thing. It's kinda funny, but if I ever am in a position of danger, I go slightly lethargic, like "lets close my eyes and we'll sleep this off"

LOL...nice. I did the same thing when we got hit by a nasty supercell storm down south. They said it could form into a tornado, but I never found out if it did or not. I went to sleep.

LOL...you don't want to see me dance. I dance in my head all the time, but never usually in real life. DDR is a huge challenge for me cuz I am not coordinated...at all.
