No matter about the eraser marks, I actually don't see them... Global anatomy looks good, wings are good too, but I think they could be more muscular (I know, wings are really difficult things to do
![]() |
Thank you. As for the need for muscle in the wings, though, try looking at this picture: http://www.coolbuddy.com/wallpapers/abstract/dragon/Dragon22.htm I thought that dragon looked pretty good, dispite his lack of musulature.
*Oreo's link* Mhh, I've already seen that brilliant picture before, you're right it looks pretty good, but I think the wings are too small to make it really fly... Maybe that dragon does have magical flying powers
![]() |
*oreo's link* AH! I love that picture!!! That's like one of my favorite dragon pictures ever!! It's actually the thumb icon for my account on my home computer. Anyway, as for this pic, the overall detail is very good, but the feet and wings could use a little extra muscle, and the smoothness and curve of the back legs and tail could definitely be improved upon. Other than that, great job!
Thanks. I did notice right before I scanned this picture that the wings are a bit small, and I almost redrew it just to fix it; butI didn't because I figured art is art, and it's bound to have flaws. That's what makes it art, right? Anyway, I agree that the wings are too small, I just didn't notice right after I finished the picture because I was glad to be done with it. I think we all do that sometimes.
Alrighty. It is no matter really so long as you make an effort to improve in your next picture
Of course.

she, of course, is talking about me. the only reason i "flip out" is because i will just ask her to read something i have written, sometimes specifically asking her to not edit it, and she just attacks my work all throughout reading it. that is what annoys me. i have, however, looked back on some of those things and i now agree that they are pretty lame and i will basically have to comepletely rewrite them. so, rana, let me edit them myself until i can look back much later and say: "this is the best i can do" and then you can critique them as much as you want
lol. You weren't the only person I was talking about. There's another kid I know of who totally freaks out when his artwork is critiqued.
I can be a pretty difficult person to critique. I don't flip, but I do deffend myself for as much as I can before I'm proven wrong. I'm trying to stop that habit.

I have taught myself to handle critisizm well. I'm one of those people who is kind of the outcast, so the ability to take things with a level head comes in handy when I want to maintain my sanity. I'm sure that there are many on this site like that. Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying you guys are'lame' or anything like that. We're just too cool to be 'cool'.

I completely understand Oreochema. My lunch table is pretty nerdy. It's not that we exclude ourselves from everyone. We just kind of...gather.
![]() |
HALO! lol...that's our table. Lately it's been more about WOW but I've never actually played it.
Don't you have to pay money to play that game?
Halo?! Are you serious!? I LOVE HALO!! My brother and I play it all the time together. I also play Tomb Raider, but that's because I'm an action/adventure/puzzle person. But anyway, HALO RULES!! @Rana: You only have to pay money if you are playing online, in which case you buy a card with a number of hours on it and enter the code into your game unit. You hten have that many hours to play online before you have to buy a new card.
ah. How do you play it offline then? Also, my favorite game is Legend of Zelda Twilight Prncess, and second is Kingdom Hearts. I like TOmb Raider as well, but the whole POV thing in Halo really bothers me.
I see. You're not fond of first person games. Halo is one of only about two that I like that are like that. Anyway, you play offline much the same way you play a playstation. The XBox works like a home unit and an internet unit. If you aren't connected to the internet, you just play without connecting with other people online. You can still play multiplayer and all that; you just aren't connected to millions of other players around the world.
Ah, see, there's the problem. I don't have an XBox. Perhaps sometime I'll play WoW, but not anytime soon.
Ah. Not having an XBox can cause some confusion as to how it works.
![]() |
@ Oreochema: Halo rocks plus I have several of the soundtracks...I am a halo freak. Not a halo addict, a halo freak lol. I've been reading the book series recently too. @ Rana: I've never played Zelda or Kingdom Hearts...hmmm. Maybe I should.
Definitely, they are both very good rpg games, although I personally like Zelda Twilight Princess better. I haven't played KH2, but I hope to soon.
Then I most definitely have to try them, especially Zelda. I've always liked the little guy. The only big rpg I've played is probably Oblivion, the latest installment in the Elder Scroll series. But lately I haven't played it much, usually because my 360 has an annoying habit of letting me get so far in the game and promptly shuts itself down, deleting my level 20-some (highish level) character. It irks me big time.
I would have to assume that 'irk' is the hugest understatement in the history of understatements. That would completely and utterly tick me off!! Also, I, too, listen to Halo music. I currently have every distributed soundtrack excluding Halo Wars and, of course, Halo Recon. My favorite Zelda game so far is, wait for it. . . Windwaker. My favorite part is when you place the orbs into the hands of the statues and Link is launched off of the little island!! That has to be one of the funniest moments in the entire game!
Yeah, definitely. And I like that game somewhat, but Twilight Princess is more complicated, and has way more sidequests, which are cool! Plus, Windwaker is just a bunch of little islands, whereas TP has a whole WORLD to explore.
@ Oreochema: I love the word "irk." I used it because, firstly, I enjoy it, and secondly, I didn't want to openly cuss or anything (I don't swear on the internet...usually)...lol. I just found that an understatement would be the best way to vent my frustration because it was such an obvious...understatement. Yeah. Understand that one...lol. I remember when I had one soundtrack to halo 2, and not the other one. Ugh. It was frustrating. @ Rana: If you like exploring worlds, you should try Oblivion. It's a bit darker, but it's so freaking cool! The only issue for you would be getting a 360....hmmmm. lol...and I will try both Zelda games. I'm really curious now...gee, thanks. LOL Now all I have to do is find a playstation.
Actually...the zelda games are on Gamecube. I have both a gamecube and a playstation 2, and I'm not looking for any more game systems anytime soon, especially not for a game that I really dislike the POV of.
@ tweaked: I tend to avoid cussing period, but I agree. My favorite word for angry is 'livid'. I also like the word 'salubrious', which means 'beneficial to the health'.
I use some cussing, but never any really bad cussing. My favorite word would either be flabbergasted, or masquerade. But I like a lot of other words too.
Hmmm...I like indubitably and hippopotomonstrosusquippedeliphobia (the fear of long words)...I don't think that's the way it's spelled, but I tried.

i hane the fear called Scoleciphobia, but I am not afraid of worms just the other half of it those little things are super creepy..... O.O
Scoleciphobia? What does that mean? I personally hate tapeworms with an overiding passion! *shudders and glares at all existing tapeworms*
it is the fear of *shudders* M------'s! *whispers* maggots... *shudders again* O.O
Maggots? Really? Hmmm...I can understand being afraid of them, but they're really completely harmless.

i know they just creep me out, i'm not really deathly afraid of them so it is a rather stupid phobia
![]() |

is ok. At least it's not one that you'll probably have to face unless you decide to go onto fear factor or survivor.
@ Catc: I have the same fear...I never really knew what maggots were until I had to clean out an old garbage bin when I was ten...I'm not going into details, but I was scarred for life.
ewwww! >.< That's so gross! I hate cleaning out garbage, its just nasty!
Me too! The above experience is why I never clean out garbage cans. I make my brother do it
![]() |

*shudders* I totally agree.
Hey, Tweaked, remember pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis? And rombitruncatedicosadodecahedron? And there's another one I learned: hyperpolysyllablesquepedilonistic! Cool, right? Good times, good times. *eyes glaze over thinking of past days* Aaahh. . . .
@Catc, I know how you feel, maggots are the only things that make me feel like hurling...... Lately I keep having these really bad dreams, where maggots are eating their way out of my hands, then crawling up my arms and into my clothes *shudders* I don't normally remember dreams, but I always remember this one, and I've been having it or variations of it every night for two and a half weeks.
@ Oreo: Wow! I remember all of them, but I could never pronounce the first one. And the last one...very cool. I love long words! *eyes glaze over like Oreo's* I remember my meditating/drawing spot - the rock with all the trees around it. I used it a lot this year.
*feels left out, since I has neither fear of maggots nor love of super long words*
Sorry, Rana. *huggles Rana* I appreciate your uniqueness
![]() |

I meant it as a compliment...*flies to meditating place, pats rock* Come join me. It's a really cool place. *starts drawing*
*joins tweaked at meditating rock* *lies down beside it in the grass, sighs and looks happily up at the clouds* I wish I had a place like this near where I live.
![]() |
I'm sorry. Places with natural beauty don't seem to stay beautiful for long though. *sighs and looks around* This place will probably get treed and steam-rolled before long.

![]() |

LOL...don't worry. I don't eat my friends.

*is glad to be safe from tweaked's all-you-can-eat-cannibalism fest*
Everyone who's a dragon or half-human or is in any way not human is safe...*whew*
Alright, that's good. I'm a Varyen, so I'm half-human half-elf. *does a Hallile impersonation from JONAH* My father was an elf, but my mother was a human. *deep sad sigh* But I'm ok with that now.
I'm a skilled metal worker? I did not know that! Very cool, Rana.
![]() |
Yup! Hehehehe...It runs very deep in my family. I love Jonah too...I like almost all of the veggietales movies...hehehe
I like a lot of the newer ones. the older ones and the new larryboy ones are just annoying I think.
*has no idea what vegitales is xD * know what my fav tv show was Blues Clues with Steve and Blue
![]() |
@ Rana: I don't like Larryboy. He's weird. The older ones make me twitch with all their retro animation and weird storylines. The newer ones appeal to an older audience too, which is probably why I like them more. Don't worry catc...I never watched blue's clues, but I think I kinda missed the train since the original Steve got booted.
I used to watch Blues Clues. I can even do this thing where I bark just like Blue. It's kind of dumb and scary, but my brothers eem to find it entertaining.
@Catc: Veggie Tales is a children's movie series made by Big Idea and geared towards chrisitan families with bible stories and christian morals taught in every video. They only just recently expanded their media to feature-length films, it used to be only half-an-hour with larry singing a funny song in the middle (my fav was the kangaroo one). I'm not sure how you would like the half-hour ones, but Jonah and I think now The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything are very funny and worth watching, even if you are a teenager. @Tweaked: There were a couple larry boy ones that were animated like the regular movies, and I sorta liked those, but the cartoony ones are just annoying.
I agree. The cartoony ones were...eh. Yeah. Can I slap you with a fish? lol
![]() ![]() ![]() |
*throws fish, spirals away like mad* Only if you can catch me!!! I'm as fast (or faster) as the wind!
@ Tweaked: Wait for me!!
![]() |
Aye but...*dashes onto a water tightrope and gives chase, but only for a few seconds before she lashes out with a water tendril, binding tweaked's ankle* *pulling tweaked back while running forward, Rana reaches slapping distance and gives tweaked a huge whallop across the head*
Gnowwwie....that hurt! *blasts wind at Rana and blows her off her tightrope, evaporates water tendril from foot, and spirals away again* @ Oreo: Come on, Oreo! Rana's gonna get you too!
*pulls out another water tightrope and runs slowly to the ground, revenge-fish-slap acheived*
![]() |
*laughs and plays with a cloud, blowing it around* Hey Rana, if I could blow you up here, would you be able to stay up here?
Dude, I could get up there anyway! *jumps on a water tightrope and rushes nearly straight upward towards tweaked and her cloud* *as she gets higher in the air, the water begins to freeze, making it harder to keep reforming* *finally, Rana forms a swirling platform of water beneath, keeping off the ice but still slightly hard to maintain* *looking up she sees tweaked a few feet above her* Well, this is as far as I can go before my water freezes.
One thing about air *spins around* is that it goes quite a bit higher...*giggles* well, till I die of asphyxiation. But if you want, Oreo and I can carry you up to where the air ends. You can probably stay warmer if Oreo takes you...she's got the fire power *giggles again*. If Oreo's okay with it, that is...
*nods* Ok! *waits on platform* Despite my control over water, I have absolutely no control over ice. That was a sub-branch of water that, if given time, I perhaps could have learned and mastered, but...well...certain circumstances got in the way *rana looks down sadly*
*Oreo flies down and allows Rana to climb aboard**Zephyr starts for the clouds with Oreo and Rana close behind*...Another thing about riding me is the fact that you might have quite a few issues hanging on. I twist sporadically so I can keep moving. Why couldn't you learn ice?
Well, my master, the Forces Power of Alakester was very old, and at one point after a years worth of training with him, I had mastered all water control, maritransmorphing, and the like, and he said that he next wanted to teach me the power of drak water, such as very deep lakes and seas, and eventually, the power to master the ocean. After that, he would teach me to freeze, form, and control ice. But one night, he had a vision of extreme darkness, taking over and blotting out the land, destroying all the other powers. At the time, he was suffering from a deep illness which I was trying to cure, and the vision was so powerful and terrifying that it threw him into shock, which killed him soon after. I left him then, searching for a new master to finish my training, when I passed my village--completely burned and destroyed. I then made it my personal job to find and destroy the Dark Power, and was a great leader in the Black War of Alakester. Afterwards, I no longer wished to live there, and moved on to Kietsu
OH...cool. That's a really good story. My wind master died, but he was really old, and he died peacefully. Not much creativity when you think about it...*sigh*
No, you have plenty of creativity, your's just comes in the form of art where as mine comes in the form of stories. It's different, but still imagination, still creativity. See, with me, if I ever think of a story or a character I get really into, I love to keep developing that story in my head until it becomes this huge complex plot, Now, granted, that doesn't always happen, and a lot of times I'll come up with a story idea but not much else, but even still, it's what I love and what I truly want to do.
Really really cool! It's the same way with me and art. I start out simple, then continually add detail til I believe the person looking at it will be busy for quite a while. Then I call it good. And, like you, I often come up with pics that aren't really that great, and I never get very far with them. I know art will be the thing I'll do for life. I just need to get a broader field going so I can have a fall-back plan.
Well, if you like photography (definitely an extension of art that you can make very detailed and creative) you could go into photo-journalism. Also, advertising relies heavily on artists, or perhaps becoming an art teacher. I have a back-up plan of becoming a journalist while I try to sell my first book, so that I can have a steady income of money while dealing with the obvious first-time delays.
Nice plan. I'm planning on taking on Graphic Design. It fits my interests in art, and it involves computers and such. I think it would be a good field for me to check out. I've contemplated being a teacher, but I'm not sure if I'm that nice of a people-person...LOL.
Perhaps not, teaching certainly is not a path for everybody, but I'm sure you can find many well-paying jobs branching from experience in graphic design, that's definitely a good choice!
Thankies...I wanted something a bit broader than a major in art...
With movies and tv the way it is, I'm sure you'll be in plenty of demand, even with the bad economy.
I hope so...college is a big leap of faith for anyone...LOL
i be going for ag education totally out away from anything art related.... i may take an art minor or a few classes of art or something... idk... my one friend is going to college to be a graphic designer
![]() |
Oh very cool...LOL...they like art, I take it?
ummm they don;t draw like dragons and animals and such, more like the technical things like drafting things
![]() |
Oh okay...that works
See, even in college catc plans to be the crazy old cat lady!
